Rideshare

Public transportation is great, but it doesn't always get you where you want to go.  Not everyone who comes to work or study at ARC comes here with a car (particularly not the summer interns), but a fair number of people do.  If you're living on-site in the NASA Exchange Lodge then getting around Ames isn't likely to be a big problem, but getting out to buy groceries, see a movie, or visit the Golden Gate Bridge might be.

This page was created to see if there's interest in a self-organizing rideshare program here at Ames.  How it would work is an open question, and in fact is the point of starting out by putting it on a wiki.  If it's going to work in the long run, it's going to have to be worked out by the people in it.

As with the proposed Housing Committee, if there's enough interest, this page could be expanded into a larger collaborative workspace.  In the meantime, people with ideas on how to make it work, volunteers with vehicles, and people who need rides are encouraged to comment on and/or edit this page.

OK, so this world war

two era poster may be

a little extreme by

today's standards...
