Restaurants, Bars, & Clubs

Keep in mind that the drinking age in California is 21, just like it is everywhere else in the United States.  Despite what you may have heard, being from a foreign country where you are old enough to drink does not get you "grandfathered in" here if you're under 21.

A comment on drinking and driving.

Restaurants That Will Deliver Food to the Exchange Lodge

PLEASE add to this list if you know of any places that will deliver food to the Exchange Lodge. It's a problem not only because they have to go through the gate (although the guards will let them in if they show a driver's license), but also because the buildings on Moffett Field/ARC don't have an address, per se.  Include a contact number if you have one, and feel free to list helpful information like whether there's a delivery charge, etc.

  • Domino's (phone #?) - Domino's delivery cars have been seen inside Moffett Field, but if you've actually ordered from them, please add the number of the store you called.

Places on Castro Street

The main street in downtown Mountain View is Castro Street.  There are something like 50 restaurants fronting onto Castro between the Central Expressway and Mercy Street.  Where known, the cuisine is in parentheses after the name.  (Where it's obvious from the name, the parentheses have an arrow pointing to the name.  Hey, come on, <-- looks sort of like an arrow.)  Feel free to extend this south to West Camino Real or thereabouts, correct any errors, add details and reviews (or links to reviews), comments, etc.

Caution:  According to a knowledgeable local, eating lunch on downtown Castro Street during a weekday is easy (and tasty), but parking downtown at lunch time can be a real nightmare.  Figure in some time for driving around looking for a spot. Or park in the free parking areas that can be found on either side of Castro, and figure in some time for walking (quite possibly less time than you'd have spent driving around looking). To get to the parking areas follow the signs to the right immediately after the railroad tracks to get to the parking garage, or follow signs to the left a little farther down Castro to get to a couple of open lots.  Did we mention the garage and open lots are free?

Note:  If you add something to this list, please add it to the list on the page for Castro Street, too.
