Mountain View Farmers' Market
Description
There are 70 or so booths selling food, flowers, honey, and all of that good stuff. While not perhaps "farm products" in the very strictest sense, you can also find bread, seafood, and assorted other edibles. Many of the vendors offer free samples, particularly those selling fruit and vegetables. You may find the odd musician, artist, or clown, as well. (But you're not supposed to eat them.) You will also find people peddling political parties, religious organizations, and occasionally outright Faraday-fedora fruitcakery on the fringes of the market.
The market sets up in the parking lot for the Mountain View Caltrain station, and operates for a few hours each Sunday. It runs year round, with the produce varying from season to season. The food here can be really excellent, some of it is organically grown (and most is locally grown), and you can usually find some very good prices.
Bring cash, ideally in small bills. It will make life easier for both you and the vendors.
Incidentally, if you show up near the end of the day (well, near 1 PM), some of the vendors drop their prices quite a bit, since not all of them want to carry home leftover strawberries. Of course, by the end of the day the more popular items often sell out, so it's a trade-off.
